With Chinese New Year comes the visits! For some, meeting your extended relatives once a year can end up in two extremes: awkward silences or an endless barrage of intrusive questions.
In addition to exchanging CNY greetings, we’ve come up with a few ways to help you navigate conversations during Chinese New Year like a pro. From older relatives all the way to younger nieces and nephews, you’ll be able to strike up (or deflect) a conversation in no time! (If all else fails, ask if they want to do any of these activities together with you.)
