For Our Dreams: Wang Chenwei Composition Showcase

Enjoy this performance presented by Singapore Chinese Orchestra, SCCC’s next door neighbour! The showcase features the Singapore premiere of the works of SCO’s Composer-in-Residence Wang Chenwei, under the baton of Conductor Emeritus Maestro Tsung Yeh. This concert features works such as For Our Dreams the world’s first virtuosic diyin sheng concerto Taoyuan Wonderland, Postcards from Macao and percussion concerto Bronze Age of Shang.

Under the baton of SNYCO Associate Conductor Moses Gay, SNYCO will perform Wang Danhong’s Eight Tones and SCO will perform concertos The Lord of Western Qin and As Thus featuring soloists SNYCO Co-concertmaster Koh Yu Jie and guzheng member Sim Kee. The mega orchestra of SNYCO and SCO presents Chen Si’ang’s Endless and Peng Xiuwen’s The Terracotta Warriors Fantasia led by SNYCO Music Director Quek Ling Kiong.
